Autumn/winter fashion continues to be influenced by 90s nostalgia, with one of our favourite styles of jacket making a big impact.
As we do each season, we peruse the trends and enjoy shopping our own wardrobe to style existing items in a new way.
Shopping your own wardrobe is a great way to save money, help protect our planet, and enjoy items you may have long forgotten about, giving them a new lease of life.
Sometimes I’ll invest in one or two good quality pieces for the season. Items that I know will be in my wardrobe for years to come.
But of course, I always style my outfits with one of our sustainable and uber stylish bags ♥
Autumn means business
You may recognise this blazer from seasons past, and that’s what makes it so hot. In the fashion world, the blazer is helping to encourage the ‘anti-trend’ trend movement, i.e. classic pieces that you’ll wear for years.
Whether you have a short, buttoned blazer, or a longer line, don’t be afraid to wear it this autumn. I’ve borrowed mine on a long loan from my partner’s wardrobe!
An earthy pairing
Brown was the new black this time last year, and we can enjoy these items once again, this time paired with green.
Think rich, bold tones of coffee brown and emerald green, matched perfectly for an autumnal stroll.
Want to double up on the fashion points? Go for brown cargo pants like these ones from River Island. Skinny trousers are out, baggy cargo pants are back in!
A vested interest in gilets
There’s never been a better time to learn that an extra warm layer is (thank goodness), fashionable!
We’ve styled ours with a classic flared jean and an on-trend vest, but you can up the stakes for autumn/winter ’22 if you dare.
Pair your gilet with a dress, over a denim jacket or a shearling coat, and you’ll be bang on trend.
All tied up in silk
Chances are you have a silk tie or scarf tucked away, possibly even a beautiful vintage piece.
Wrap it around your collar or tie it around your ponytail. Have fun with this stylish accessory and make it work for you.
