New Year, New You?

It’s a widely over-used phrase isn’t it: New Year, New You, but it doesn’t stop us clinging onto the concept of some sort of change or reinvention as the new year draws in.
Life seems so busy for many of us, juggling various different roles and tasks on a day-to-day basis, that personally, I’m vowing not to put additional pressure on myself trying to make any drastic changes for 2019.
There will inevitably be some small changes as I journey through the year, but mostly, I’m going to invest time further building on the positive elements I’m grateful to already have in my life:
• my home life
• my connections with family and loved-ones
• my business
• my commitment to plant-based eating (at least twice a week!)
• my fitness
Yoga
Yoga is especially important to me and it’s something I endeavour to practise first thing each morning.

Always starting with sun salutations to greet the sun and the arrival of a new day, I find yoga a gentle way to wake up every part of my body from my muscles and connective tissue, to my digestive system and overall mental state. For me and millions of others, yoga is a wonderful blend of looking after my body both physically, emotionally and spiritually.
If you haven’t tried it, I would highly recommend it. Perhaps start with a local lesson or a beginners YouTube video to get you started and don’t be afraid to try different types of yoga until you find the one that suits you. I bet you will soon feel the benefits!
Happy New Year!
